Organic and Natural Skin Care Products

Posted on Apr 19th, 2006 by Dancer : EnlightenedCompassionateLeadership Dancer
I am an Independent Representative for an awesome company called One Group…which stands for Organic and Natural Enterprize. As a massage therapist (my other business!), I was looking for a lotion that I could use in my business that did not contain any of the Methylparabens, Sodium Laurel Sulfates, or other gobbledegook that is found in 99% of the cosmetics and skin care products out there. I felt that if I was putting it all over my clients (on their biggest organ, the skin…) never mind having my hands in it all day, I wanted a product that was truely GOOD and nourishing for my skin.

Not only are these products amazing (and believe me, this girl was anything but a “product person” before I joined the company!) but the ethics of the founders and the vision of the company blew me away. Add to that the fact that One Group is averaging a compounded growth of 12% PER MONTH for the last 33 months and I reckon this is a pretty good place to be right now!

Rather than reinventing the wheel, I am posting some of the information from our homepage.  Please feel free to contact me at abchoice@mail2one.com or go straight to my web page at www.onegrp.com/?abchoice to see the products and to learn more.

If you are interested in becoming a distributor, you can go to www.mienterprize.com/?abchoice. I will also have a proper e-commerce site up within a few weeks and I will announce it here when that happens!

2 cool Pam…I'm on the same wavelength….do you know the difference between toxic free and non toxic?  Toxic Free means know known toxins are in the product.  Non toxic means that less than 50% of the animals that the ingredient was tested on died!

So what does a US cosmetic company do if their 6 week test has 45 outta of a hundred animals die at 4 weeks?  They stop the test…which allows them to keep the label non toxic!

It used to be the FDCA, now it is the FDA becuase the cosmetic industry said they could self regulate themselves…

exactly why I use Toxic Free products…   I shall check out your line!

I am sure you will LOVE them Wil - the word toxic has no application here…everything is USDA food grade Organic ingredients. The one thing that is not “organic” is the shampoo, which has a minute amount of cocoa polyglucose (the midest of the mild sudsing agents) and they are trying to find a way to replace that with a plant-based substance. The facial cleansers use Yucca as the cleanser…and I love them.

Some things are classified as having “organic ingredients” only because they have non-agricultural ingredients like garnet crystals in the exfolient or clay in the masks and foundations…which cannot be classiefied as “organic”.

You are right about the cosmetic industry…they get away with murder…I have a box on toothpaste that I show people that says ”Certified Organic Aloe Vera Toothpaste” Note the different type. The one and only organic ingredient is the Aloe Vera.

You can always PM me if you have questions….

“botanical extract blend in deionized water” - Basically a botanical “tea”..ie, water is the first ingredient, with whatever came out of the herbs that they used in that “tea”.

cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, stearyl dimethyl chloride, - This isn't “toxic”???

guar gum  - for me (this is my persoanl feeling) cheap thickener

phenoxyethanol and h y d roxymethylglycinate (safe pre s e r v atives),
- If  I can't pronounce it, I don't want it on my skin!

botanical blend in water  - More  tea water!!!

Our Miessence Conditioner:

Organic aloe vera (aloe barbadensis) leaf juice, sorbitan olivate and cetearyl olivate, organic apple cider vinegar, non-gmo lecithin, organic safflower (carthamus tinctorius) seed oil, organic avocado (persea gratissima) fruit oil, d-panthenol (pro-vitamin B5), organic geranium (pelargonium graveolens) essential oil, organic patchouli (pogostemon cablin) essential oil, honeysuckle (lonicera japonica) extract, peru balsam (myroxylon pereirae) essential oil, organic nettle (urtica dioica) extract, organic horsetail (equisetum arvense) extract, organic rosemary (rosmarinus officinalis) extract, organic burdock (arctium lappa) extract, organic sage (salvia officinalis) extract. 92% Organic Product.

Organic aloe vera (aloe barbadensis) leaf juice - notice no water is added to this product…

sorbitan olivate and cetearyl olivate - Non ionic, not ethoxylated, PEG-free, self-emulsifying system derived from olive oil. Soften and hydrates the hair.

non-gmo lecithinA natural plant phospholipid from non-GMO (genetically modified organism) soybean oil. The uses of phospholipids in cosmetic products are many - they are superior skin restorative agents, moisturisers and have the remarkable ability to penetrate the epidermis (top layer of the skin) and carry substances to the cellular level.

These 2 ingredients make up the 8% “non-organic” content…only because they do not qualify for the certified organic label…..

I always find it interesting to see what ways companies have to wiggle around in their labeling…let me know what you think when you do your own homework…
