700,000 villages

Posted on Apr 5th, 2006 by Dancer : EnlightenedCompassionateLeadership Dancer
Thanks to Calmeagle for posting this - reposting it here so I can find it when Ineed inspirtion..........

Peace

I am alone, how can I reach seven hundred thousand villages?
This is the argument that pride whispers to us.
Start withthe faith that if you fix yourself up
in one single village and succeed, the rest will follow.

The Meatrix II Revolting

Posted on Apr 5th, 2006 by Dancer : EnlightenedCompassionateLeadership Dancer
Again - thanks Calmeagle. Posting this here to reach more people.

http://www.themeatrix2.com/

I will write more later, but I once had a small Organic farm. What I learned in that time about how our food is produced could turn a person off food alltogether. But there is hope. Buy LOCAL. Buy Free Range/Grassfed where possible (organic doesn't mean free-range). go online and do your homework. Learn to read labels.

Organic may be more expensive. But our nation tends to overeat as it is. Encourage people to buy QUALITY, not QUANTITY.

The future of the planet depends on how we care for it NOW.

Dance analogy

You can't dance to the song that is playing if you keep replaying a song that has ended in your head.

Thanks Special Ed for that thought...

Dancing is a contact sport; football is a hitting sport." - Vince Lombardi

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance. Anon

Rules for being a Human

Posted on Apr 15th, 2006 by Dancer : EnlightenedCompassionateLeadership Dancer
I cut this out of something years ago and I have it pinned on my fridge...I reflect on it whenever it catches my eye...

1) YOU WILL RECEIVE A BODY...you may like it or hate it, but it will be yours for the entire period this time around.

2) YOU WILL LEARN LESSONS - You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called life. each day in this school you will have the opportunity to learn lessons. You may like the lessons or think them irrelevant or stupid.

3) THERE ARE NO MISTAKES - ONLY LESSONS - Growth is a process of trial and error, experimentation. The "failed" experiments are as much part of the process as the experiment that ultimately works.

4) A LESSON IS REPEATED UNTIL LEARNED - A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can then go on to the next lesson.

5) LEARNING LESSONS DOES NOT END - There is no part of life that does not contain lessons. If you  are alive, there are lessons to be learned.

6) "THERE" IS NO BETTER THAN "HERE" - Then you "there" has become "here", you simply obtain another "there" that will, again, look better than "here".

7) OTHERS ARE MEARLY MIRRORS OF YOU - You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself.

8) WHAT YOU MAKE OF YOUR LIFE IS UP TO YOU - You have the resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.

9) YOUR ANSWERS LIE INSIDE YOU - The answers to life's questions lie inside you. All you need to do is look, listen, and trust.

10) YOU WILL FORGET ALL THIS!

Aids Walk New York

Posted on Apr 16th, 2006 by Dancer : EnlightenedCompassionateLeadership Dancer
My 17 year old daughter, Jessica, it taking part in the AIDS Walk in NYC on May 21, 2006. She has set a very ambitious goal of $1000 - and I am so impressed with her desire to raise money for this cause that I agreed to put this out there for all my friends to see to help her reach that goal. Jes is a very active member of her school's Gay/Straight Alliance to support her many gay friends, including her father. I hope you will help me help her. Follow This Link to make a pledge . I have added her letter that she is sending to all her friends and family.

Peace

Pam
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Hi!

I am writing to let you know that I have registered for AIDS Walk New York and am very excited about the event. This is a very important issue to me so I have set an ambitious fundraising goal. I want to do as much as I can to make a difference in the lives of men, women, and children affected by HIV and AIDS. Even though there has been a lot of publicity about drug treatments which are prolonging some people's lives, they don't work for everyone and there is still no cure in sight. Moreover, young people are still getting infected at alarmingly high rates.

GMHC and about 40 other AIDS organizations in the area get the money from the AIDS Walk. It's clear that we need more services and more prevention programs than ever before.

I want your help. Will you please sponsor me for the AIDS Walk? Just click on the website address below to enter my personalized web page and charge your donation. Thank you, in advance, for supporting this important cause and for showing that you join me in wanting to end this epidemic.

A few facts you may want to know:

~AIDS Walk New York is the world's largest AIDS fundraising event.

~AIDS Walk New York stands out as a model of community action and cost-efficient fundraising. The priority has always been to have the money raised go directly to vital services to help people living with HIV or AIDS.

~AIDS Walk New York benefits GMHC (Gay Men's Health Crisis), the nation's oldest and most comprehensive AIDS Service organization. The organization's staff of 189 and 7,000 dedicated volunteers provide services to more than 15,000 men, women, and children living with HIV and AIDS and their families.

~A portion of the net proceeds from the AIDS Walk also goes to dozens of other AIDS organizations within the tri-state area.

This cause is very near and dear to my heart, and I would really appreciate any contribution you can spare. And a note to my friends who maybe don't have their own vcredit card: ask your parents; I'm sure they would love to help you out by letting them charge their cards in exchange for cash. Who knows: maybe they'll add an extra buck or two of their own!

Thanks so Much!

~Jes xoxo***

Organic and Natural Skin Care Products

Posted on Apr 19th, 2006 by Dancer : EnlightenedCompassionateLeadership Dancer
I am an Independent Representative for an awesome company called One Group…which stands for Organic and Natural Enterprize. As a massage therapist (my other business!), I was looking for a lotion that I could use in my business that did not contain any of the Methylparabens, Sodium Laurel Sulfates, or other gobbledegook that is found in 99% of the cosmetics and skin care products out there. I felt that if I was putting it all over my clients (on their biggest organ, the skin…) never mind having my hands in it all day, I wanted a product that was truely GOOD and nourishing for my skin.

Not only are these products amazing (and believe me, this girl was anything but a “product person” before I joined the company!) but the ethics of the founders and the vision of the company blew me away. Add to that the fact that One Group is averaging a compounded growth of 12% PER MONTH for the last 33 months and I reckon this is a pretty good place to be right now!

Rather than reinventing the wheel, I am posting some of the information from our homepage.  Please feel free to contact me at abchoice@mail2one.com or go straight to my web page at www.onegrp.com/?abchoice to see the products and to learn more.

If you are interested in becoming a distributor, you can go to www.mienterprize.com/?abchoice. I will also have a proper e-commerce site up within a few weeks and I will announce it here when that happens!

Selfishness

Posted on Apr 22nd, 2006 by Dancer : EnlightenedCompassionateLeadership Dancer
For anyone who has not read Wil's posts on Selfishness Expanded, I encourage you to go there...

Since I was a teenager I have fought the traditional view of selfishness...and very recently I have been thinking of writing an article about this very subject.

I would love to hear even more views on the subject....your interpretations on the topic.

I can't wait to start typing it all out. My head is ready to pour it all onto the keyboard and onto the computer screen. A few more tea leaves please!

Peace

A Story of True Love

Posted on Apr 29th, 2006 by Dancer : EnlightenedCompassionateLeadership Dancer
I just got this from a friend who has been helping me to get unravelled from amny of the issues what are holding me down. I had to pass it on.

The Whale: A Beautiful Story

If you read the front page story of The San Francisco Chronicle on Thursday,
Dec. 14, 2005, you would have read about a female humpback whale who had
become entangled in a spider web of crab traps and lines. She was weighted
down by hundreds of pounds of traps that caused her to struggle to stay
afloat.

She also had hundreds of yards of line rope wrapped around her body, her
tail, her torso, a line tugging in her mouth. A fisherman spotted her just
east of the Farralone Islands (outside the Golden Gate) and radioed an
environmental group for help.

Within a few hours, the rescue team arrived and determined that she was so
bad off, the only way to save her was to dive in and untangle her-- a very
dangerous proposition. One slap of the tail could kill a rescuer. They
worked for hours with curved knives and eventually freed her.

When she was free, the divers say she swam in what seemed like joyous
circles. She then came back to each and every diver, one at a time, and
nudged them, pushed them gently around-she thanked them. Some said it was
the most incredibly beautiful experience of their lives.

The guy who cut the rope out of her mouth says her eye was following him the
whole time, and he will never be the same.

May you, and all those you love, be so blessed and fortunate----to be
surrounded by people who will help you get untangled from the things that
are binding you.

And, may you always know the joy of giving and receiving gratitude. I pass
this on to you, my friend, in the same spirit.
